Have a 13 wPP. 93 tune, Cai, cat back, plugs, stat , map bla bla bla. Question is I bought it used from a dealership and didn't get the tuner nor do I know who tuned it, so would putting mandrel bent catted downpipes on it require a return or should it run ok?? TIA. BTW the Car runs great , 12.9 @110

What kind of down pipes are on it now? Stock or aftermarket upgrades and you are just wanting to upgrade to something different. If stock I’m almost certain you will need to re-tune the car. If already aftermarket upgrades then I would say you have a better chance of not needing a tune unless you want to see true value of the upgrade I would say re-tune.

I went through this similar issue and this is what I can tell you, if you bought it from a ford dealership like I did you can take it to them and speak with the service manager explain it’s tuned to run 93 you didn’t know this when purchasing the car and you can it set to stock. They can reset it or flash it and it will put a stock strategy number for you to the use any tuner you want to retune with any tuner you purchase. (Gearhead seems to be great, I had my car in a 93 Ortiz tune when I first purchased it switched to GH)

If you did not buy at dealership, call ford and ask what this cost I’m sure a pretty penny but as far as I know they are the only ones who can reset it back to stock, option #2 contact previous owners, usually can find info to contact on car fax with names etc.
good luck I hope this helps.

so getting the stock is good to have, but you have to check if the map on top the intake manifold that is the difference if you can roll back to stock with a 2 bar. some upgrades are 2.5 bar or 3 bar map sensors. if they load stock the car will stall or run real shaky and rough.

its a torx screw 1 of them that hold it down. @Junkyard_Mad-Scientist posted a picture markup to help you find the map. sensor. maybe he can repost it here. get the part number and lookup if it's 3 bar.

to run stock they need to put back a 2 bar. I would use Gearbead or reach out to Brad at AJP turbo... search these threads for his email. Matt at GH is a veteran as well.

you have a windows laptop or want to run android or iOS get a license for Forscan and gather info to learn more about the car. they list suggested obd2 connectors to interface with the car.

You haven't been here very long... it can get derailed by 1 or 2 people very quickly
I've seen one or two here that made me and a few others lose their cool, but FB seems like a battle field of keyboard warriors looking to put people down. Ill admit its less on the Taurus groups than others I'm part of but I still see it. but yeah compared to you I have not been here long at all lol

This site has an odd number of bots that will quote a post to an old thread directly from a post above. I don't really care but, I guess I turned on notifications on here that notify me if someone has responded to me or a thread I posted in. It's just weird to get a notification and go see that some poster with 1 post typed exactly your response from 2 years ago.

But, yeah. **** Facebook. That's just to read and laugh, not actually post helpful information.
