The third v11 tune entitled 'shift' began turning the tach needle red on the 2-3 shift. The needle bounced above and below 6000 rpm and took and held the high rpm for 2-3 seconds before finally shifting slowly into 3rd. Too much risk to my car. I gave up, went back to stock, then ordered the GH tune.

And now no shift issues at all ? No shutter or hesitation ? How is the shifting (hard) or just a little (firm) or just smooth ?

Glad to help. Zero issues with GH. The car runs like new, only stronger in every respect. While Wide Open Throttle is normally done once each time I drive to keep crankcase oil vapor moving through the entire intake system, it's the stop to stop and passing at half throttle where I can really feel the tune in the seat of the pants. At WOT, it shifts firmly without a clunk, very reassuring. At lesser throttle, the shift is smooth and less perceptible, but also reassuring.
It runs kind of like the stock program had several cups of coffee before the car was started. Again, StealblueSho is spot-on.

GH shifts are faster but less harsh. Still firm but doesn’t **** the car. They are spot on.

YES! This is exactly what I reported over in my thread - I thought it couldn't be possible. But it is, shifts seem quicker than my LMS V11 but less harsh if that makes sense or possible.

Yes, AJPTurbo sent me an email explaining it... iirc it’s not just cranking up the shift pressure. Shift pressure doesn’t translate into a faster shift from what I understand. Maybe Brad can chime in.

The 1-2 shift issue has nothing to do with this issue at all, the 1-2 shift issue is because of loss of traction between those gears the vehicle senses slippage and will not allow itself to shift for safety reasons, turning traction control off and adding about a pint of trans fluid fixes this issue, i have tested this on my own vehicle and have never experienced this problem with the v11 93 oct tune. The only other way to prevent this issue is for us to pull power out and make the car slower so that it does not lose traction but normally people who are having this issue are leaving traction control on

LMS - I've been a customer for 5 years and you're the only tuner I used until my issues. Your customer service is world class! Anthony deserves a huge raise and a big award!
I am NOT trying to hurt your business, but rather trying to help other people in my shoes who spent their hard-earned money on a service/product that is not working and possibly could damage something that again we don't want to spend our hard-earned money repairing when it shouldn't have been damaged in the first place. Your comment here is completely false.
I've done numerous adjustments to my car at your recommendations and still had these issues. Overfill tranny fluid, turned TC off, turned the entire ECS/TCS system off, etc... And its happened at all outside temps, not just cold.

I was quite concerned about damaging my essentially new 2018 so reached out to Anthony who provided the following response which appears quite reasonable to a person with limited understanding such as myself. I should note that pursuant to his instruction of putting 50-100 mi the v11 is now working great - no bouncing off the limiter, falling flat or any other issues:

"We haven't experienced any issues with pre-mature cylinder wall damage, any added carbon buildup or any other damage when using the stock fuel pump our tunes since we leave safeties in place that will pull back power as you've felt before if the fuel pressure drops so that it can maintain the correct lambda / air fuel ratios. These cars are wideband o2 equipped factory and will hit the desired target for AFR / Lambda no matter how the fuel pressure is reading basically. So they basically said we aren't going to lean things out rather than pull power back under any situation. It's just not safe to do so, so it would pull power out rather than pull fuel out. So It's still commanding the same lambda it was on the prior tunes that are in use on thousands of vehicles with no failures of any sort to my knowledge."

I don't think I'm the only one to say that this offer should have been made before now. I do like my tune from you guys and have recommended it to lots of people but the whole "overfill your transmission" was kind of weak...

We are now 5 weeks into this thread.

Making this offer is a good way to get to the bottom of it however and I do applaud you for it.

I debated even responding.... they offered multiple times for someone to come by and they would look at the issue first hand...

I haven’t seen ANY tuning company offer to get someone a rental car in their own dime to diagnose a tuning issuing. That is to be commended.

Dinging LMS for not offering to pay for someone else’s transportation up front when the issue was being reported is a bit ridiculous.

Bravo LMS for taking ownership of this problem and working to resolve it to your own financial burden.

They are doing a good job of trying to fix their problem. Hopefully, they fix this.

If I had V11 and it was giving me trouble, I would not let LMS touch my vehicle to try to reproduce the issue. That is just more wear and tear on the vehicle which seems that V11 is responsible for. People are reporting that going back to stock or changing tunes are correcting the problem.

Is LMS willing to cover any damage that could occur during their guinea pigging of a customer's Taurus? Are they willing to spend 5 to 6 grand and replace a 6F55 transmission in good faith? If they are I am sure they will have no problem stating it publicly.

I'm glad LMS came around and they are righteous for doing so, but I'm happy with my SCT GH tune and do not want to risk my car. If you've never been in a car that these issues happened to, you wouldn't understand. My horrified wife told me to pull over and stop, thinking irreversible damage had just taken place during one episode getting on the freeway.

A missed shift that bounces off the rev limiter is not gonna blow the motor. LMS doesn’t raise the limiter to where the motor is gonna let loose. Just sayin...

There are parameters in the stock programming that pull the car out of gear under certain conditions.

I will say you can’t go wrong with Gearhead, everything I have received from Matt has been spot on.

Agree on the motor, not so sure on the transmission.

I don't know where you got the idea that I was "Dinging LMS for not offering to pay for someone else's transportation up front". I did no such thing.
