well, he opened it. Its near the back. I guess it must of been aftermarket, whatever it is. There is like a button and switch. When he presed the button, the idle went down a little. Its obvious its not NOS...It had an alarm, could it be that?

And why not? the pass airbag was optional in 92, but I don't think most of them got it.

p.s. I've been all over my 92, and no such button exists on, in, or near my glove box, well except for the one I installed, which is an on/off switch for my subwoofer amp.

Seems to me that even though the pass air bag was an option on the 92 it was not legal at that time to disable it. I think!!

Could be wrong about that!!

So I don't think it has anything to do with the air bag. I would think though, looking at it, one should be able to tell of it is an aftermarket switch or a stock switch from the factory. I will check my 92 tonight.

It is more than likely a valet switch for an aftermarket alarm. I'm probably 90% positive. If you turn off your car, flip this switch, start it and then turn it off, it may disable your car if the alarm switch is still active. Thought I'd be the "mature" one of the group

I'm going with the alarm thery. I'm thinking its a "****" switch for the starter. Try starting the car in both positions of the switch and see what happens.

If all else fails. Follow the wires, and where they go !!!!

ohio is for hustlers
I looked in my glove box and I found the button. I cleared out all the stuff I have in their to get a look at what it says, and wouldn't you believe it said "Press here to activate jet propulsion." I guess it lowered his idle to power up the little jets. Man all I need is a ricer wing now and my car will fly!
