I just picked up a set of 07 Gt mufflers for $30 off craigslist. I was wondering what everyone was doing to install these properly? Just bringing them to the muffler shop and getting them welded to the stock piping? Or since the Gt have larger diameter piping do I have to get a whole new cat-back welded up? Also pics would be greatly appreciated, and if im not asking for too much sound clips. Thanks.

If you really have your heart set on them just take them to a muffler shop. They will cut your old ones off and do what it takes to weld in the new ones...no new cat back is needed for just new mufflers.

Pretty much. Take them to a muffler shop, hold them up and go, "I want you to put these (point at GT mufflers) on that car (point at your car)".

Then get yer wallet out. Pretty easy, really.

I just looked for this guys card but I couldnt find it. Hes on 441 just south of Griffin. Its painted bright red and yellow with sculptures in the front. If you live in Hollywood you must have seen it. He did some exaust work for me on my truck for a good price. Hes one of the very few people around here I would trust touching my exaust.

Just dont show up with 22" emblems and music slamming or else he'll tell you to go screw.

BTW. You werent the guy who came knocking on my door asking to buy my SHO are you?

I just took it to a muffler shop and they didn't have any problems welding them on for me. I'd suggest painting them black though. It looks better from the back. I don't have any pics underneath.

so you let movie producers touch your exhaust?

...what happens in hollywood, stays in hollywood...

edit: Man, I just realized you're actually from (a) hollywood! I was referring to the "please get me a job in this movie!" variety...

another option u guys have are PT Cruiser mufflers, they are a straight through resonated pipe inside the muffler...... it'd probably sound like a quieter magnaflow... or maybe just as loud

I don't like the outside idle.......... sounds like a 4 banger ranger with a hole in the muffler..........

Any mufflers will sound line that cold and unloaded. Having run these mufflers I can tell you they sound awesome once warmed up and loaded.

i currently am running these on my 90. my setup is a little different. its true dual all the way back with the gt mufflers, and 12" resonaters, 1 on each pipe. only thing i would suggest is going with a longer resonator, but if you have cats thats probably enough.

Borla mufflers on my '90. Stealth install with stock size and look turn downs. Thing still sounds like a loud yet lopey ricer.

My '93 has a Dynomax exhuast, but I have a set of the '05 Mufflers on the shelf waiting for the next SHO..

I can't wait to get my catless y pipe on my borla setup... maybe I should take before and after sound clips

thing I hate is nobody takes a sound clip under load.... and it sounds totally different... thats more of the driving experience instead of just revving it in nuetral...
