what could this be caused by? Basically, the temp reading on my EATC is REALLY dim,i can hardly see it. The clock looks fine. However, the guages seem dimmer as well. is this the battery? this is the first time it has happened...i think i have had symptons of a bad battery lately. But, what else could it be?

Does it make a difference if your car is running or not? It may be your altenator, the easiest test for that is loosen your negative battery terminal when the car is off. Start your car and then pull off the terminal, if your car stays running then your alternator is probably ok.

Rio, that's normal! If you have your lights on, the car assumes it's nighttime and dims your display lights, which makes it kind of hard to read them if it's daytime!!

no, i know that it dims the lights inside of the car when the lights are on. But they are REALLY dim, my gauges appear to have no lighting...then about a minute later it begins to light-up. I am assuming it is a battery. What kind/size should I be getting?
