7000k kit, emitting a purplish hue which many Audis and the Honda S2000 have.
I'll see if I can borrow a digital camera from work and do a stock/HID comparison photo shoot.

Cool, Mark.

I hope they work out good for you.

I'm having really good luck with my Silverstars, but I think that has alot to do with the fact that my headlights are less than a year old also.

I'll be putting HIDs on the SVTF in a few months, I'm going to wait until the kit goes down in price though.

Well, the HID kit was delivered to me at work today. And, I was able to leave work an hour early tonight. So, I'll let everyone know how the install goes! It's 25 degrees and about 50mph winds. At least I have a garage (albeit unheated) to work in! :D

I'm really interested to hear how it goes, because I could never quite figure out how the HIDs would work in a single-bulb application like the 9007's are. I only mention it because the discussion came up in the Audi forums about flashing your brights with HIDs, and it was concluded that since the model in question ('97 A6) left the lows on when the highs were on, it wouldn't matter. But I'm curious about the warm-up time, etc.

Not to say that they won't work, but I haven't been able to rationalise it in my head yet, so I can't wait to see it in action! These cars sure could use brightening up!

Some of the HIDs have a bulb that physically will move. This concentrates the bulbs output in a slightly different area of the reflector creating a higher beam.

Well, the install went ok. Took me a while to figure out where to mount the ballasts. Not much room under the hood of the SHO!
Turned the lights on, WOW! Man, they looked really, really cool warming up and when they were fully lit. I turned them off and on a couple times and everything looked great.
Then, this morning as I was leaving for work I turned the headlights on, and only the driver's side bulb lit up. Great. So, I drove to work and then as I was leaving work tonight I turned on my headlights, and now neither of them lit up. squint
They just flashed for a brief moment and then turned off. Well, looks like it's time to check the troubleshooting section of the installation guide... :(
Other than that, when they were on last night, they looked absolutely awesome!
