Well, just completed my first oil change on the 2015 SHo @ 4942 miles. The oil filter that was on there looked like the one from the factory. No writing on it and slightly longer than the MC filter I bought at Walmart. I was able to take it off with just my hands. No tools needed, so I just did the same with the new one. Hand tighten and done. The under belly pan has 4 quick release nobs which made things easy. I am posting the link to a picture of the hew filter compared to the factory installed one. Notice the holes in the factory installed filter are larger.

Yup, the difference between the factory and Motorcraft filters has been gone over a few times. The F150 EB is the same way I think.

I posted some pictures here about it too.

Seems like the flow would be better with the factory design. Guess it doesn't matter that much though.

I'm surprised you could remove the filter by hand. I always install filters hand tight (I believe the spec is turn until the seal touches the block plus 3/4 turn and that ends up being basically hand tight) but they pretty much always require a wrench to remove.

Like was mentioned, the size difference is known and nothing to worry about.

Me too. I checked today and there is no leaking so I guess it doesn't take much tightening to make them oil tight.
