Not necessarily the owner's fault. Tho the design of the engine is somewhat susceptible to destruction when the engine has not yet reached normal operating temperature and heavy throttle demand is placed upon it. I think most likely it is the low tension piston rings going bellyup. Sounds like there may have been loss of compression with that rough idle, MAYBE. Or could have been LSPI, or superknock.
That is what I was getting at my friend. LSPI or Superknock.
OP, what brand of oil are you currently using.
