SHOMurph:
I'm assuming you have the big fuel pump.

I'd buy the 15lb pulley from Vortch and the biggest John Holmes size K&N you can buy.

You should be able to hit 18lbs. Have Fred install Total Seal gapless rings. Texan Tony has been running those for a long time with no problems.

You got big injectors and forge pistons....go for it!

I'd also put some Nitto Drag Radials on the front or you are going to just spin spin spin.

It won't cure spinning but will help.
Yes it does have the 255lph on it.

this all sounds like a good idea murph, although i'm not sure about 18psi, although it would be insane, i would like it to be SOMEWHAT drivable.

Once i get it all back together i'm going to start saving for joshs new gear set for the tranny and hopefully then i can step up to those numbers.

Axiantor, I will be contacting you once i get it back together, to umm... play.

Robby, its about right, maybe a little bit short, but its good enough for me. I still don't think it was tuned enough or correctly for that matter, but what do i know. :)

It still would be driveable....just have more boost at WOT. Driving it around town would be the same...but you would really feel it when hittin the gas.

Remember to respect the power. It can get away from you and its sneaky smooth.

Have you driven it yet or was it broke when you bought it?

Until you get into boost your SHO will pretty much drive like any other SHO....thats the beauty of it. If you stay out of the gas you'll get good gas mileage comparable to other N/A SHOs.

When you nail it thats when you go VROOOOOM thats why going with more boost won't matter with the streetable driving.

Be sure and break in the new motor for at least 500 miles without boost. This is the hardest thing I had to do when I put in my new motor....stayig out of it. But you want the rings to set or you surely will have blowby and need a rebuild before 10k miles. Again the Total Seal Gaples Rings have held on Texan Tony's car nicely.

After breakin trying going with a bigger K&N and see if just that switch will give you a couple more lbs of boost.

I will try to get a hold of mikey in that SLOW GTP... lol. I might have film.. If the weather is nice on saturday... My friend Scott might take out his viper to see what the car can do.
I'll come play, but racing won't be fun. My blower belt tensioner is dead and my boost has been really eratic.

I did manage to hold off another SRT 4 the other day with only 6psi, a far cry from the 10 I should be seeing. frown

This 3.0L that was punched to 3.2L, did it use 3.0L rods/21mm pins?

I'm curious of the rod failure, since this is a rare thing with SHO engines. Post pics of the teardown.

Murph-
thanks for your advice

I will be speaking with fred about the total seal gapless rings and maybe going to the 15-18psi pulleys for dyno bragging rights, but keeping it streeab;e at 12.

the best part about this blower setup and how this blower belt will probably never slip (yes i know you want pics) and i got a few :)

Breaking it in will be hard, but i figure i will take some nice scenic rides down cape cod for the 1st 500miles or so, get an oil change, give it abouter 500 and then let the fun begin! :)

Everyone else, thanks for your welcome.

this should be an interesting journey

Nice nice! Good looking car!

Two things I save up for....

cowl hood...makes the motor run nice and cool...not to mention its very light.

Nitto Drag Radials on the front. Trust me your going to whrrrr whrrrrrr your current tires.

I love the roll bar that is what I need in the SC and track car!!

Congrats!!!

Murph there is some new rubber on there but i am sure i will need something sooner rather than later :)

Thats the rickety roll bar, there are 2 more removable pieces that aren't on it at the time, looks pretty tight.

Marc, good to hear car is running good, you gonna keep it now? Is it quaifed yet? Way to whoop the M5 i can't wait. :)
