My 90 has/had the JBL with the CD option. The radio however is the same as the one in my 93, which is not the JBL, the Ford radio. The CD looks like OEM, old style buttons. It also looks like the harness in the trunk has been changed but looks OEM. I say this because there is now a plug and a couple of speaker wires not in use, but all are part of the same harness.

So now the question. The CD player doesn't work. The lights turn on with the dash lights, that’s all. It won't even try to accept a CD, like it has no power. Now I haven't been behind there yet, so could it be as simple as the harness not being plugged into the CD player? Or did the harness have to change when the radio was updated and could not accommodate the CD anymore?

What should I be looking for? Is there any way to remove the radio and CD player without the Ford tool?

if you have a thin enough clothes hanger you can cut it into two 8" long pieces. Then bend both into 'U' shapes. Insert the ends into the four holes in the radio and gentle pry the 'U's away from eachother and pull out. Hopefully this will work or I'm simply talkin' out my butt. hee hee
