First thought... an axle...

But you will need to get under the car (or atleast look under it) and check around for anything "out of place". I know its kinda hard when you don't know what your'e looking for, but just look for things that dont look right.

any fluid on the ground? i hope not, btu that would be a sign that the diff pin is out.

if it was an axle, then the car would still slightly limp right?

The speedo gear is driven off the diff, so if you have a speedo reading then your diff is fine. It's your axles. Make sure you replace that c-clip! :thumb:

the circlip is not needed upon reinstallation. its only purpose is to hold the half shaft assembly onto the transaxle while its being manufactured at the factory.

my guess is you snapped an axle.

Actually, you do need it. I had an axle that kept popping out of place due to the clip not being there by mistake. I forgot that I had accidently knocked the clip off and installed the axle without.

i have never replaced them and never had any problem. the weight of the car/force of the suspension keep the halfshaft in the trans.

ok so i dont think it is an axle because when i got underneath the car the passenger side of the transmission end cap was off/moved 2 inches away from the transmission my mechanic buddy took a look at it and his best guess is that it is the final drive which means that the transmission has to come out is there somewhere that i can find a step by step guide on how to drop that bad boy so i can get it rebuilt
