It's alive, nearly stalling problem though.

Well, I finally got my 92 running, and more importantly licensed. It used to be my buddies car and it's been sitting since 2002. I had to replace the entire starting and charging system to get it to run, and then noticed that it was knocking, so I replaced to rod bearings. They were really wiped, I'll have to show pictures when I get back home. It's been running really great. It has suspension issues I really need to address, and it still needs some exhaust work. The only real problem it has is when you push in the clutch and the rpm falls more than 200-300 rpm to idle, it will drop down to about 400rpm and lug for a second before coming back up to idle. It doesn't throw any codes and it doesn't stall out. What should I be looking for? Thanks, Chris.

Idle Air Bypass needs to be cleaned. At least thats what it sounds like.

It's a valve that opens and closes a path from the airbox to the intake manifold so that the car will idle(not stall) when the throttle is closed. It sounds to me like yours is sticky.

The common solution is to remove the throttlebody and the IAB valve(on the back of the intake throttle mounting ******). Carefully clean out all the little passages and clean out the IAB.

It will take you longer than you imagine. Just be patient and remember where all those hoses went.

Gotcha. Intake is a little dirty,so it's probably gummed up from sitting for so long.
