Pasting all the details from an earlier message:

Nook's post:

Yep, Im going to try it again! Im trying to put together a mass group buy in for performance suspension parts through my shop ! If I get a big enough buy in, I can offer LOW prices to everyone that participates. A big enough buy in will give me a national level distributorship, and I'll offer my cost on any items to those that participate in perpetuity!

Intrax progressive springs for the taurus will run about 169 a full set! You can get parts for any car though, not just the Taurus!

Anyone who joins in in this pre-sell will get them at the factory direct pricing of 50% off of list, plus shipping, no markup. I will extend this offer to everyone that helps me out to other products I carry already such as Vortech Supercharger systems, Amtech anti-roll SUV systems, Tokico, Eibach and Tuff-Country off-road systems as well. To everyone that joins in on this offer, I will extend sales of these items at MY COST in perpetuity. For Intrax items, that's a 50% percent discount if I can become a national level distributor, 40% if I can buy in as a retail reseller.

The rest of the details:

Any Intrax springs or coil-overs are eligible
Any application is eligible - Not just Taurus!
To re-iterate: About $169 for SHO Springs!!
Read the bold print: If you get in on this, Nook's offering you HIS COST on a lot (if not all) of the other products he carries (Tokico, Eibach, Vortech)

Nook needs 60 sets purchased to get his deal. If you need springs now, or any time in the future, this is the time to buy them! CHEAP CHEAP!

I'm going to get in on this for sure too. Couple questions... am I going to be ok using these with OEM struts for now? Are my 245/45/17's going to rub worse? How much are camber kits? Last but not least how much is installation ballpark? Thanks & this is a sweet opportunity!

I don't think camber kits are available for the SHO.

Don't know how much install is, haven't gotten mine yet.

Finally, you're on your own for the struts you get. I'm assuming that you could use your stock struts until you get new ones.

I personally am going to wait until I get the springs AND struts, and only pay for installation once.

If you fill out the info on the buyin page, Nook should email you back.

If not, I think his email is [email protected]

Sounds like it could be anything. I figure, I need new springs, and if later down the road I can get hella cheap struts, I am just gonna jump on the bandwagon.

Email Nook and ask. I don't have the money for struts at the moment, so I'm not stressing on it. He does sell Koni struts, so I'm assuming that if the group buy-in is successful, his offer of parts-at-cost would extend to those as well, but I'm not positive.

I can't believe how great of a deal this is.
I really hope everyone jumps in, imagine getting 50% off future items as well!!

I may suggest that everyone should contact Nook now if you are interested. The higher the count goes, the more likely it is that other people will get in instead of waiting to see how it goes.
Think about how great of a deal this is folks!

Totally.

Go to the page, fill out your info, and get in on the deal.

Tell all your buddies about it. I'm almost positive that Intrax makes springs for Honda, Acura, Mitsubishi, etc.

If you know ANYONE that has stock springs, and is a performance nut like we are, tell them to get in on the deal!

Do you have Nook's E-mail address??? I can't find it anywhere, all I see on his page is a phone number.

Thanks

But has anybody really put the Intrax springs to the test? Do they ride OK? I understand progressive, and Nook's page says that their firm is way firmer than Eibach - I'm not sure that is a good thing!

Any comments from current Intrax owners??

I'd like to get a set, but have to think about the 150 miles per day I spend driving to work and back.

I'm trying to get rid of or at least minimize the squeaks and rattles :)

Well, he says that they're about as soft as the soft end of the Eibachs, too...

I've heard quite a bit of not-so-great stuff about Eibach lately...namely that they're really not that great of performance, that they're trying to gear themselves to a more of an OEM feel, with a lowered look.

SHOshop rates the Intrax's as being a higher performance spring.

All that, plus the fact that these are cheaper have made up my mind.

Yeah that is the whole idea behind progressive rate springs. You don't look like a ricer bouncing around, but when you need it they handle. I rode in a car with all the suspension mods and a Tokico/Eibach setup, and I can say the handling was phenomenal. I feel that either spring would do a fine job.

I'm in but now we just need to get this across other boards so the # jumps up quick. Also anyone know how much Konis would be from Nook? I don't think I want to pay the installation fees twice either. Long live group buys baby.

I would jump in on the Intrax GB in a sec. if I knew how these babies rode/handled. It doesn't seem like anyone really knows how they ride.
Taken that into consideration how great of a buy is this if the springs turn out to be POS??
"Do it twice do it right"---I think not!
I'm not in till I hear some good reviews.

Right on, Mr. Horney....... $50 bucks is a pittance to save, if you have to do it over again or are not happy with the result.

Does anybody know if Nook has these on his ride?

I'm in, if I'm convinced that the ride will be ok!
