Alright, I was interested in getting my hands on a '95 MTX 130A alternator, but will this plug into my harness or will i be left with a rig job to successfully pull off? Either way, I'm interested in doing this! '89 alternators are rated at 90A, the extra 40 would be a blessing i'm willing to take FULL advantage of! :dribble:

The alternator bracket is different so you'd need to get that and swap it, which means removing the compressor. The plugs are also completely different, so you'll need to hack your harnesses as well. I think Adam Varney tried this and gave up. You're better off just having your factory alt rewired for higher output.

how different are the alternators in regards to internal dimensions? would it be possible to gut a 130A and swap it into the 90A casing of my '89? I'll look into this.

No idea on that question. Maybe try calling a rebuild shop and see if they can tell you?? Might save you the trial and error work.
