I have my intake off and I want to remove and inspect the injectors. According to SHO Shop, the injector O-rings are no longer available from Ford. Is this so? If I am careful removing the injectors am I likely to damage the existing O-rings?

Markus,

It is possible to remove the injectors from the head and from the fuel rail and not damage the "O" rings on either end. BUT, it is a risk.

Just what is it that you want to inspect. everything is internal, other than the electrical connections.

It might not be a bad idea to have them cleaned and checked by someone who has the equipment to do that. However,I would not remove the injectors until I had a new set of "O" rings.

If I remember correctly, DANA makes an aftermarket set. Follow the other threads regarding the OEM "O" rings, and maybe you can get in on the "group" buy! rangerj

I found an aftermarket source of o-rings & injector seals, and will be trying them this week as I put my s/c'd 91 back to stock for the smog. We'll see how we make out.

You can get the injector to fuel rail o-ring over the counter at a parts store. Just take in an old one for them to size. The injector to head seal can gotten from ford, 9 bucks for a pack of six. Part number is E9DZ-9C991-A.

Well, the part number E9DZ-9C991-A doesn't look at all like the stepped rubber seal that is on the injectors. They look like rubber donuts. I wonder if the pressure of the fuel rail squishes them into the stepped shape?

Maybe these donuts are the dust seals for the rail end of the injectors?

Anybody have a Denso catalog so maybe we could find out if these injectors are used in any other vehicles?
