My #13 fuse keeps blowing. I cant really tell why... i just put an aftermarket stereo in but used all harnesses, so hook ups should be ok.

i took the blue and red wire going out of the dimmer switch(dimmer wire, i think...or illum?), and checked continuity between it and another end of it...good continuity. then i tested the end of that wire and ground... to see if the wire is grounding out. there was continuity..meaning it is grounded out.

BUT does that wire run to any light bulbs?? (because all light bulbs are grounded) thus eliminating my theory that the wire is grounding out, it is just grounded through a light bulb.

so the question is...is the wire grounding, or is it grounding through a light bulb? (which it is supposed to do) shrug

First ... double/triple check all connections. Make shur they are going to where they are supose to be.

Now depending on your aftermarket head unit, You really don't need the dimmer connected. I don't have it connected in my Stang and it was the same one in my old SHO (same wiring setup).

Ford wiring is very tricky ... If I remember its negative rest at ground. So if you wanted to connect your dimmer to the radio you would need a relay to change the continunity (sp) going to the radio.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.
