ignition switch?

Hey everyone, trying to see if anyone can help me with breakdown number 3 this month! Ive been reading about ignition switches on here for about an hour, but still not sure... 2 days ago i turn the key to start the car, and when it hits the start position, nothing happens. I try it a couple more times, starts up... Last night it does the same thing, except this time, not only does it do nothing, but now all the cars electronics (heater, radio, windows) wont work with the key in any position. I try over and over to get anything to happen for about 3 minutes, and everything is still black. Then a couple minutes later at about the time im ready to give up, I turn the key to the on position, everything comes on, and then it started right up... Today it starts up just fine, drove it around, when i got back, i parked it, shut it off, then hit the key just to see if it was gonna do it again, and i hit the key, and nothing happens in any position. No power, no anything... Im thinking the switch and or key cylinder is most likely it, the key lock is sloppy, but i could be missing something, and always like others input before i throw more time and money into this car, thanks in advance.

Ignition switches fail in these cars often. Chances are that's all that is wrong.
