Ok this is my problem. I just bought a 89 SHO with a 3.3 in it i can go threw all the mods i know of to it if you need me to later but here is the problem. it ran just fine while i was in texas but once i got to minnesota with it it wouldnt start right. it did it a couple times were i would have to sit there and keep turing it over till it started and i would be there for like 5 min. now today i finally got it to start and it dosent run right at all. it sounds like crap and wont idle right. if i try to give it gas it will climb up only if i give it anything lest the half way open. if i try to punch the gas it sounds just like complete crap and will die out. any help would work wonders :thankyou:

Sounds like it's flooded. Hold the accelerator to the floor next time you start it, and keep it there until it clears out some. Try putting some dry gas in the fuel tank too. Maybe the change in climate built up some condensation.

Well the one code i pulled from it said it had a bad Air temp sensor but i dont see how that would be messing with it. The reason why is i have that unplugged in my 94 SHO and it runs like a top. i wouldnt say it would be a cat cuz it just had high flow cats put in it not too long ago. And about it being flooded i know its doing that but it no longer happens just when i start it it does it while its been running just fine. Me and my brother think its for some reason dumping to much fuel into the engine and choking it out. The reason why is the cats get cherry red it you let it run like that for a bit. Also i have been running dry gas in it for a couple tanks and still nothing. Me and my brother think its could be one of three things. let me know what you think. the first one we wanna try it we think it could be a bad injectors so we are going to try switching out them with the ones off my green sho. the second thing we think it could be would be the cam sensor or the crank sensor. seeing that its putting too much feul we think the timing might be getting off from them. the third things is we are also going to try if those fail changing out the fuel pressure reg. to see if that works if not im out of ideas. Thanks for the help so far

Is this car tuned, or running a chip? You're right on it either being out of time or dumping too much fuel, based on your description of the cats being red. Unburned fuel is getting in there somehow. I read your first post again, and I'd recommend checking for vacuum leaks, and checking the ignition system (wires, plugs) before you start tearing into the injectors and sensors.

If it has a chip, take it out, clean the connections, and plug it back in. Make sure it's seated well, and use some duct tape to secure it in there.

If the car has a chip or lpm, start there first. Make sure that it's seated properly in the back of the computer.
Not having a good connection will cause all kinds of problems.

Another tell tale sign of a "chip" problem is that when you turn the key on, the electric engine fan will come on. Does your's do this???

And the MAF to make sure it is sealed. I had similar issues with my 92, I could get it to start and run cold though but die after it warmed up at all.

Just an idea.

If you don't already have a bad cat or cats you will if you keep heating them up. It doesn't take much to ruin a cat if you got it so hot it turned cherry red. I had a new high flow Magnaflow cat installed on my car and the same day I power washed my motor and messed up a few sensors and the car was running real lean for a day or two and I ended up ruining the cat.
