you have 2 choices:
1. do the idle reset procedure - you are supposed to have the a/c on, the headlights on, the radio on when doing the idle reset. if you did it w/ the a/c low, it didn't cycle on/off, so the pcm doesn't know how much to adjust the idle for the a/c load.
2. drive it for a few weeks, during which time it will adapt to the added load of the a/c cycling.
when I do the idle reset on the 92, I have to leave the a/c off, or it makes too much change in idle speed when it kicks on/off. if I leave the a/c off during the idle reset, it does what you describe above, but over a few weeks it learns to account for the a/c kicking on/off but does not over-do it. (this is partly due to the 8 lb flywheel I have on the engine, so its more responsive than the pcm expects)
