ive been having a weird idle issue.
car when i start it up jumps to around 2k then after a few seconds goes down to 900 rpms. sometimes depending how i hit the gas the idle will stay at around 2k rpms for awhile and it seems like i have to hit the gas a few times quickly to get the idle to go back to normal.

i reciently replaced the IAB because it was bad, not with a new one but a known working one.
havent changed plug wires or anything like that but i have put new plugs on.
havent replaced the CPS' but it hasent acted like they are a problem i guess and dont seem to get any codes for anything being wrong.

should i just reset the idle and hope for the best?

could the DIS be acting weird? maybe a weird ground? i dont know how well the ground on the intake to body is but i dont think its the greatest.

the intake has been cleaned, throttle body and maf have been cleaned. also the little sensor in the air box.

it dont seem like the throttle is sticking at all so i doubt its that, even if i hit the throttle by hand under the hood and know its back to the oringional spot it dont seem to be sticking but still does the funny idle.

reciently checked the tps and it seemed fine when i used the volt meter it didnt have any dead spots.

think that about covers it.

olny thing i can think of is wires, possible coil pack, crank and cam position sensors since i havent replaced them and they are unknown of age. and maybe since the car was atx and still has comp and all for that and that i removed the egr maybe its making it act funny.

thanks for anything in advance :hail:

I thought you said in this thread that you had fixed your idle problem with a new IAC part?

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=71200

Assuming the IAC did not cure your problem, have you also completely verified that you do not have any vacuum leaks anywhere in the intake system? Have you also tried gently but thoroughly cleaning your MAF sensor using the steps outline here on the forum?

the IAC did cure the idle problem and put the car back to what it was idling as.
nope i was also thinking theres a possible leak but havent checked.

also i didnt know there was certain steps to clean a maf i figured it was pretty easy as long as you dont use anything that can mess up electronics.

ill have to grap a propane tank and test for leaks.

this problem to me didnt really seem like a leak tho since it didnt do it all the time just when it felt like it really.

also when the car is at stock idle it seems like theres a miss. my engine, exhaust and well the whole car idles like theres a low end cam. outta a v8
