Idle going up and down

After driving for a while with my heat on all of a sudden my idle shoots up to the point where if my car is in park I have to shut it off to get the idle back down. I just had a solenoid replaced which was suppose to fix the problem. The check engine light doesn't come on anymore but the idle still goes up after driving for a while. Any suggestions????

I have this problem too. Normal is around 800 maybe but at times it's around 1100-1500 or so. I haven't noticed any coincidence with the heater though (haven't looked at that though). Also sometimes while I'm driving, doing around 75 mph, the tach is at 3000. Normally it is at 2500. After a little while it will drop back down to 2500. But then sometimes it jumps back up to 3000. Any ideas?
