so im wondering can the idle air bypass cause drivability issues? such as bucking ? or poor running? if so is there anyway to test it? ive already cleaned it once.

Have you pulled the codes from the computer? That's step one.

In my Topaz the IAC (IAB) caused rough running including max idle RPMs in the low 3000s. I blew through a new set of pads and destroyed the rotors in seven months just because of the idle speed. It never sent a code from what I could tell.

Found another one in a junk yard and it worked well enough. You can take yours off and spray that non-residue brake cleaner on it. If there is one, the plastic "spring dealie" should be firm and unbroken. I can't remember if the SHOs has the same internal assemblies as the Topaz.

The IAB caused a bouncy idle for me and sometimes stalled. Cleaned and great. My cam position sensor caused the bucking. Drive along all is great. Then out of no where buck like crazy and hard to keep rpms up. Sometimes had to stop. Sometimes would hard start and needed to cycle the ignition. If you check Cam position sensor check for oil if you don't know that already.
