Me and Aaronsbiza are planning to make our own sfc. I have access to a friend with a welder and deluxe cordless dewalt kit(sawsall/cutoff/grinder/etc). So what I nd to know are the tubing sizes(i've read 1"x1" 12ga doubled and 1''x2'' 14 ga), angle of cut(deg.), and lengths for the full length sfc's. Also is there a specific steel i should get. I would like to use them as jacking points. We will be using 4 jack stands and assorted jacks to hold the car in the air. Just so Im clear they nd a full bead on all sides right. We will weld the ends and give it a coat of black also(after install). Say it with Kylon.

I just got home from my parents, I was there installing SFC's! The difference is amazing! :thumb: On the painting....rather than painting afterwards, I think it is better to paint them before install (mask off or grind off the weld points), and then paint the welds after install. There are a lot of places you won't be able to get at very well if you try to do all the painting after install.

I used the 1x2 steel, .120" wall thickness.
