I had to replace the 2" OD hose between the W/P and the 90* elbow on the rear head today... I don't think I have ever cut myself so much trying to shoe horn that elbow out of the car. I knew things in the engine bay were tight fitting but this was just plain absurd! 95 degrees and 65% humidity didn't help things either. I ended up buying a 12 dollar replacement hose that is wrapped in heat resistant material as I think that egr tube that runs parallel to this hose is what caused it to burst to begin with.

Here's hoping that i'll never have to work on this thing anytime soon! :nut:

Wait until the plastic Y fitting cracks on the other side under the intake and next to the ps pump. That was a much bigger job than I anticipated. These coolant hoses and fittings are might old and starting to go all over the place in my car. That big hose looks like a real PITA.

I could have had it out in 30 seconds if I were to pull the UIM, EGR hoses, 6 or 7 misc. coolant lines and several sensors that are in that area... But I did it with only an 8 and 10mm socket, 6 inch extension, a pair of wire cutters (no pliers to be found... wtf?!?!?!) and a ratchet. I think I could have painted the intake with all the blood lost from my bleeding hands.

That sounds like alot of my repair adventures on this car. Just finished most of the suspension work on this thing today. I have one word of advice (which I failed to follow myself) for everyone---quickstruts.:banghd:

Did you take the TB and 90 off the surge tank? That's an easy two hose clamp job.

Yeah, if you move the throttle body and take off the surge tank, you should have had plenty of room.

I was working on my car trying to find a vaccuum leak and it was prettyy damn hot... 15 minutes outside and you are already sweatin your balls off.
