Thanks all. Found a suitable candidate for the sleeve/bushing today so I can start fabricating soon.

Pretty badass. Looks like the factory boot is a close match in size to the bottom of that handle. Is your aim to get them to meet up?

That's the last part I'm trying to nail down, lol. I don't plan on bringing the boot up that far, at least at this point. Right now I'm trying to find a piece/way to go from the chrome square top of the boot to the round shifter shaft. Currently I have a universal tie rod rubber boot that will stretch over the chrome piece and ties it together nicely, but over time it contracts and slips up off the chrome top of the boot. A zip tie would do the trick and putting the "buckle" on the front side would hide it some of the time, but it still seems more clunky that I'd like it. Tonight I thought of experimenting with large diameter heat shrink. My thought process would be to get the tie rod boot stretched in place, then overlay it with the heat shrink, making sure it extends below the bottom edge of the chrome piece, and hoping that upon heat shrinking it, the heat shrink would "catch" the bottom edge of the chrome and hold the tie rod boot in place . . .

That would be the ticket, but I'm trying to keep this a budget build project. I'm not even sure where the closest 3d printer to me is, lol.

If you have dimensions of what you're looking for, I'd be happy to model it up, print it, and let you give it a try.

I really appreciate the offer, but I can't even picture a model in my head to work up dimensions off of . . .

I'm trying not to alter any of the OE pieces/parts so it could be put back to stock if needed.

Thank you for the offer though.

Here is attempt #1 at the boot, Dorman universal tie rod boot (from work) cut down 1/2", and a strip of 1 1/2" shrink wrap. Hopefully I'll have to time to monkey with it tomorrow.

Had some time this morning to put it together.

I'm very happy with how if turned out. It operates pretty smoothly and I love the look. I have a video of the operation but I can't find a way to put it in a post without using an outside website like Youtube, am I missing something?

The only thing I might look into is making the recessed area on each side black so the "HURST" stands out.
