Do you have plans to adjust the timing? I can tell you from experience that a 9.8:1 3.0 with the stock timing curve and 5psi hauls ass.

However...

being on the wicked edge of timing is always fast, i know a turbo focus that turned out to be running 17:1 under boost. incredibly fast for its boost level and got stupid good MPG but would constantly overheat. pistons never died though

the prob w/ the tune was later fixed

And I've got my gauges mounted already. WB02, Vac/boost, Oil temp, Oil Pressure, Water temp, volts. I don't really see the need for a tranny temp gauge unless you have a quaife. But OTOH, the more info the better.

:woohoo:

Is that an IC off a probe? i wonder how well they flow... prob not enough for my 15 psi build :( i like cheap intercoolers with in-out on one side

Yeah. I don't see the need for tweecer yet. Plus that FMU is not your average run of the mill FMU. http://www.cartech.net/fmu2020instruc.htm

Yeah it is. Should do well in my setup.

No, and actually the car as it sits has a increased timing curve with the LPM... I'll have to have it re-tuned.

Good luck with the build.

I know it's still an FMU. And I know that Tweecer is 10 times the product of an FMU. However, with my intentions I do not see the need to run larger injectors and purchase tweecer. The stock injectors can support 320chp. Granted that's close to 100% DC. However, with the FMU I can bump fuel pressure not only at full boost but before the boost even comes in. Not to mention the fact that the increase in pressure increases the lb/hr of the injector. Not by much, but again, for my intentions it should be plenty.

I'm not going to say thanks for the "good luck with the build", as I know your position on what i'm doing. And the fact that you don't like it doesn't bother me a bit, it's the fact that you're saying it under your breath. But anyways....

Talk about off topic..

Well, I never said anything about the TwEECer... I'm curious how you're going to dial timing as you'll need it. The BSFC changes when you add boost, so those injector will be breathing out steam. You can only bump up the fuel pressure so much before it negatively effects your goal and these aren't exactly the best inejctors especially since they're 15+ years old.

Don't take it in a negative way, it wasn't meant to be (nor was it off topic). If you've decided that's how you want to do it after all the knowledge you've probably gained here please do it. I'm sure it'll be a fun ride short of meeting its potential with just the parts you're putting into it.

There is a guy here local that can tune the car with the current LPM installed, I think. I'll probably end up buying another chip from him though.

Like I originally said, I'm not looking for the power levels that most people are putting out. To be honest, with the average WHP in the 350 range, that's really all i'm looking at getting at the crank. And even then, 350chp would be more than I'd hoped for.

^Haha. It's like crack, man. I went from the bottle to 5 psi. Then from 5psi to 7-8. Now look at me; 15 psi, meth and other goodies making over 430whp:))) and I'm starting to think it's really not enough...

Does 17 psi and spray sound like too much?

I think most car nuts, SHO or not, say the same thing. Not only is power like a drug, but so is modding. When the car has lost it 'zip' because you're used to it, you'll start looking at little things to mod. Next, you'll decide the little things don't feed the hunger and you go for something bigger. :)

I don't think I will ever modify a SHO to make that much power. That's not to say I will get out of the SHO game. I'll just find something different to put it in... that's all.

does it really matter what blowoff valve you use? is it just the differance in sound/flow?
