I'm starting this thread to document my build on my 89. Owned the car for a year, 100k on it ATM. Here's a list of what I've already done to the car:

~ 60k
~ 155 lph fuel pump
~ Reinforced front/rear mounts
~ Gen 2 starter
~ Plus hood (we'll see when I get around to painting it xD)
~ Tpr rear endlinks/bushings
~ A/C delete
~ Goodrich stainless brake hoses
~ Battery relocated to the trunk
~ Yellow fogs

Mods on the shelf waiting to be installed:

~ BBB/painted/ported intake
~ 20.6 front swaybar/bushings
~ Gen 2 directional slicers
~ Sunroof delete (lexan)
~ Nitrous kit
~ 3.2 swap

High flow Ypipe and rod shifter need to be on your list. The Ypipe is the 1st upgrade that I recommend and will really let that Yamaha breathe.

Thanks Chad. I forgot to add it in there. Had one on my other sho and it really made it run, definitely going on this one. Should be getting a good deal on rod shifter/flywheel/clutch/alsfb next week... rod shifter feels so much better than the cable.. this is my first gen 1 and I immediately noticed the difference.

Update:
Went on a road trip to pick up some goodies last week... yesterday I pulled out the headliner (was trying to save it but... it dissipated in my hands) and freed my Alsfb from the subframe they were attached to. Took a lot of heat and in the end I got em with a two foot pipe wrench... they're a bit mangled but will work just fine. Also here's some valve cover painting pics (old oil filler cap is busted)

Finished porting the heads the other night, and finally got the intake reassembled todayw the BBBs. Pretty happy with how to color turned out it was what I was going for. Next week I'm going to install my alsfbs and rod shifter.. also ordered some new tires... gearing up for June 7th track day at Limerock.
