I just did the heater core in my green 93 mtx a few weeks ago. First off you will need a special tool to disconnect the ac lines that go into the heater box from under the engine bay. Second there are 3 screws across the top of the dash, 2 on the lower bottoms, and another one or two around the steering wheel area. The steering column has to come out first. I didnt disconnect all the wires, I just pulled the dash out far enough so that I could remove the heater core box. There were two bolts that you have to undo in the engine bay to get the heater core box out. There is a web page on line that details how to do the heater core for a regular taurus, and it helped me a bunch. You should do a search on shoforum to try to find that page.

drop the steering column, remove all the bolts for the dash as described above....if AC is done for and u dont wanna keep it, cut the lines..I DID...otherwise remove them w/a special tool...and there is two bolts on the firewall/engine side that has to be removed to get the black box out, it's a tight squeeze if you get in there, just drop the wheel, pull dash back, and squeeze in there once it's all removed, it's a PITA i know...good luck. :thumb:
