Berryman's B-12 in a can or spray. Wear gloves and eye protection. Use a wire shank bottle brush.

I used carb clean. Tied a towel to a long wire and pulled the towel through the runner. Then pulled the towel back and forth. I used about two cans of carb clean.

If that's the intake manifold, try the dishwasher. I'm dead serious too.
Soak them in some soap and hot water(like dish soap for handwashing the dishes) for about 30 minutes or more . While it is soaking, you can scrub with a toothbrush every so often to help loosen everything and break it down. After this, spray it off with carb cleaner. Then put it in the dishwasher, just like you would the dishes.

My recommendation would be the plain jane blue Dawn dishsoap because it is killer stuff on oil or grease. It's what many of the highway departments use to get oil off the roads.

I left a message for Andy to call me and see what he thinks of using the dishwasher. I am kind of game for it Jenny.

I'll get back to you.

Jenny, give me a call. Andy said okay why not and I am curious to see what happens anyhow.

Let's find a time and hopefully we can have a few beers to mark the occasion.

Later!

Dave, did you have the little devil horns because you knew I had one and lived close, or was that just a statement in general? Hehehe

;)

if you can get a hold of a dishwasher, they'd most likely be cleaner... ;)

I've done it to mine and they have never looked that good. well until I ported and polished the inside at least.

Dishwasher?? You guys must not be married. I have to wash my car work clothes and rags in the washing machine when my wife's not home, then clean out the grease ring before she notices. If I put those things in the dish washer I'd be divorced!!

I am the one who told her she could use mine. I actually wanted to make sure Andy was okay with it. It's a dishwasher, it can be cleaned. As far as the washing machine goes, use some stuff called Trapper. It is a grease encapsulator and works fantatstic, even on asphalt.

You could just get a dishwasher for yourself and put it in the garage Kurt!

That would actually be a worth while thing, I think.

not married here, but my GF sure hates when parts are put in the dishwasher. Especially when my roommate did his the other day. He used some ajax handwashing dish soap in the dishwasher and sent bubbles throughout the entire kitchen. Tiles are peeling now but for about an hour we had a cool little foam party that I was unaware of...
