okay...front main's leaking like a 6 year old with a head cold. this morning, i left for work and it was idling bad. as i tried accelerating out on the main road by my house, she stalled. after that, no crank. the tach rises to about 900rpms and occasionally she'll act like she's wantin to fire, but in the end she doesn't. is it time to throw on the spare crank sensor from the garage? i shone a flashlight down, as i only have the lower timing cover, and there's oil caked on the top of the sensor pretty good, and the whirlygig that goes in the sensor is covered.

That lack of the covers is not helping that caking situation I'm sure... Being its a magnetic sensor I wouldnt think it would be causing your problem... (just thinking outloud here)

I just got a CE yesterday driving around.. I gotta go figure out what kind of drivability issues I have too.. any luck pulling codes?

it's gonna have a bunch of codes from trying to start it this morning, not to mention a sporadic MAF below minimum voltage code that i've been getting for years. it's pretty obvious it's not starting due to timing, what with all the pops and stutters it gives me...and since the cam sensor checks out, that's pretty much all that's left.

Got the new seal installed, but couldn't get the screws loose on the CKP. so i cleaned everything as best i could and started bolting things back together. it wasn't until i had the crank pulley bolt torquing when i realized i had forgotten the lower timing cover...whoops. eyeballed the crank timing and threw it together. the timing's a hair off since it seems kinda ****** about cold idling, but it's developed a bit of a boost around 3k that wasn't there before! anywho, no leaks and aside from the idle, it's runnin great!

well, the CKP was horribly gummed up and the inside of the pulley was absolutely disgusting, but yeah, pretty much.
