HELP....Im elbow deep

Help im elbow deep in the tensioner and chain replacement and i can't get the chain or bracket past the cams what do i do i don't want to pull the cams if i don't have to plz help me:shrug: :confused: :cry:

I had to lift the cams when I removed mine...not sure if there's a better way???

i tried to do that and when i went to pull the chain it got stuck on the mounting plates that the sprockets ride on

I never had to replace the tensioners only but to remove the cams enough to get the sprockets out, you will have to undo every rod cap. The timing belt will pull down on the cams and lift them up for you. Make sure everything check out.

The mounting plates? The sprockets are attached to the end of the cams. The rear tensioner has a plate that you will need to undo. The front one should come out once you undo the tensions and the sprockets. The rear I am not sure.

can i get by with just doin the tensioners the car has 116 on it. do u think i should install the tensioners and see how the chain feels?

The chain should be fine. I would just replace the tensioners, those are what fail not the chains.

remove the sprokets.....it CAN work, I've done it. Lots of wiggling and jiggling, but it does work. Take off the bolts using the 10 mm wrench, make sure you secure the cams so they dont move.
