Ok. argh.

I have a rumbling/grinding sound coming from the drivers side. I took the brakes off completly, and when turning the spindle/halfshaft it feels rough, almost like a bad bearing. the wheel bearing side you can feel it al ittle, but if i spin it from the halfshaft side closest to the trans, i can feel it a lot. So whats broke. the diff is right behind there correct?

$@*#!

What am I looking at here, and bizzy, if you read this, price on a rebuilt welded diff trans if it is in fact what i need.

Dragon, With brakes removed, put the tire back on. Bolt it on with 2 or 3 lugnuts and wiggle it at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. You should be able to see if, in fact, your wheel bearing is shot.

will do, it felt very sturdy to me just yanking on the spindle with the brakes off. What are the odds the halfshaft is causing this noise?
