heater pipe

hi my 93 sho has just sprung a leak out of the 1 inch long hose that is bonded to the heater pipe. i have 2 questions. ** the heck do you get the pipe off and can the short hose be replaced or do i have to buy the whole pipe assy? thanx bobc

your choices are to either replace the whole pipe asm (jy part required) or to cut the pipe just past where the hose is crimped on and clamp on a new hose there.

thanx for the quick reply. now how do i get the darn pipe assy off? doesn't look like enough room to cut the pipe. thanx bobc

You loosen the hose clamp where the short hose goes into the engine. You remove the heater core hose from the other end. Now the pipe can be removed. You DO NOT cut the pipe....All you have to do is cut the silver crimp ring off. The the old hose will pull right off. The pipe is beaded under the rubber and that helps hold the hose on. Replace the old rubber piece with this:
