My P/S H I D works for about 30 minutes then shuts off. In order for me to turn it back on I have to turn all my lights off and then turn them back on. I’m assuming it’s the Ballast, I just got this car used. I took it to ford to get a diagnostic, they came to the conclusion that I should replace everything for 2K. Anyone else experience this issue ? What’s a decent ballast that I can purchase.

Holy ****. 2k? What's everything? I would look at used if it was 2k
2K to replace the passenger side assembly ballast bulb plus 800 in labor

Look around for used units like this. I would get confirmation that that is the issue before I bought a $500 used part like this one

There are salvage yard bots on the internet that will locate used parts all around the country that you can search and get price quotes. like co-part finder and others

Check this out. The lamp and ballast are the same part left and right. Although the headlamp cannot be swapped left and right, the connectors are the same.
You can swap parts from the left (driver side) to the right (passenger side) to verify if an assembly is needed.
When you swap the bulb, I would wipe it down with an alcohol pad before installing it to insure its clean and doesnt get damaged from oil or debris during removal/install. Or atleastthats my o.c.d advice

I took your advice and switched the bulbs. You saved me a great amount of money. Now my question is what bulbs should I purchase? As far as brand. I’m glad it wasn’t the ballast.
