What else should I plan on doing if I have to replace a headgasket? I believe that is something I am going to have to conquer in the next 6 months or so (sweet syrupy smell, oil consumption, coolant loss, white smoke out of exhaust..)

So, since I am gonna be elbow deep in SHO, what should I do? Supposedly, the 60k was done 13k ago, but I found a new timing belt in the trunk when I bought it 2k ago.

This will be the first major thing I have attempted in the SHO, so any suggestion on a walkthrough? Haynes?

Well, thanks for the time!

Actually, I am not 100% sure it is the headgasket. I am a "glass half-full" type of guy, and I am preparing for the worst. I had planned on getting a compression tester next week, and see what I get from there. It could well be something else.... :bonk:

If it is indeed the headgasket...which I would doubt the SHO headgasket doesn't fail often and when it does its usually because the car has been SEVERLY overheated.

If you replace the head gasket you need to take the head in and get it milled at this point I would replace all the valve seals.
