Head unit giving up the ghost?

My alpine 7863 is probably on its last leg now. It has always had problems cutting out. I finally thought replacing the face to mainboard ribbon cable fixed it, but the problem has gotten worse ever since my friend borrowed it when I was in jail. The thing cuts off quite regularly from slight pressure on the bottom of the head unit case close to the front. I'm baffled as to what's causing this. The lighting on the face plate is also affected. It's not always at full brightness and the buttons have also stopped glowing. What shall I do? A new head unit in order, or is there something I can do in order to get a little more time out of this one. The thing has gotten so bad, I'm worried about getting into an accident from messing with it.

I tell ya i just looked at ebay today at decks and they have a huge selection of decent decks for under 50 bucks. In fact a basic pioneer cd player that normally sells at wallmart for 100 bucks was on there for 20. Im bidding on a lanzar deck to put in my jeep and its no reserve and it looks like im gonna get it for 1.99! Its brand new too. Since youve got an alpine you probably want a name brand deck so with that said i saw about 7 to 10 pioneers, about 6 kenwoods and about the same number of alpines. They also had a bunch of stock replacement decks like what came in our shos from the factory. You ought to be pretty safe buying one from there but just make sure you read every single word, and find out how much shipping will be, some guys try to make their money on shipping cuz alot of guys will bid without looking and then they are stuck.
