RESCUE SHO
Ok I will try to outline the problem the best that I can. Even though this is my third sho it is the first one that I have worked on the other two were stock and any problems I just took it to Ford so here goes.
I have a 1994 sho with a 3.2 swap out it has rod shifter the trans is a stock trans with out the diff welded . Stock clutch and pressure plate and stock flywheel
When I bought the car it had a welded diff and junior revs stage one clutch
It was though that it had a bad trans mount that was causing the engine to try jump out the engine compartment I will take video and post it tomorrow.
So the first thing we did was change the rear mount with sho shop reinforced mounts as it was torn. That did not fix it. So we changed the front because changing the back seemed to make it a little better after changing the front there was no noticeable improvement . The trans mount was changed before the new engine mounts went in.
So next I bought another trans and clutch stock trans and clutch. I had it in stalled and if anything it seemed to get worse .
So the next ting that we did was put the limiters on all three as the car had none. That seemed to make a marginal difference at first. If I was on an upward slope and tried to back up wile releasing the clutch ever so slowly it would go some before the engine started to shake again.
My thinking at the time was that that the fly wheel was to thin that it mite have been cut before and after being cut/ground again it got worse. If this is possible I don't know.
The clutch cable snapped I replaced it with a new one and the release point was very high and I seemed to have limited reverse if I was not at an ass up angle. That did not last long and I have had to make constant adjustment to the clutch.
Ok now in regard to the clutch peddle and shifter. recently (the last couple of weeks) Some times it will slide smoothly in and out of forward gears and some times it is like trying to shove a round peg in a square hole if I do the adjustment with the clutch it will go in with resistance. and the release point is very low like less then an inch or so from the bottom. Now this mite sound weird but I can be driving around shifting and it will slide in and out with out any resistance ill down shift to slow or stop and try to put it back in first and it comes back. And let's see oh when the car is out of gear and you move the shifter left and right when it gets over to the right it gets harder to get it over near 5 and reverse but it is not that noticeable while shifting in to 5 wile driving .
It was suggested that I mite have a bad quadrant I will check that in the morning and see what I can see .
I just wanted to get this thread up and go from there.
