hard to get in gear

i have a 93 sho with 90k and it runs great but it is hard to getin gear it is a 5 speed and all 1-5 gears are a little stiff to get it to have no idea where to start. help!!! it grinds in to gears 3 4 and R

SHO shifting

lots of possibilities.

first and simplest thing, which you may have already done, is to replace the tranny fluid. sounds dumb, but sometimes works wonders.

in my limited experience w/ these MTX's the hard shifting is related synchro wear, also sometimes related to incorrect or improper shimming (should not be an issue). best bet is to swap it out w/ a good tranny and take the old tranny apart for maintenance before it locks up.

Did you try to adjust the clutch quadrant? Sometimes it's a simple physical issue of the pedal no disengaging the clutch all the way.

would the rod shifter bushing be gone? would that make a difference?

I've not seen shifter slop cause these issues...and I've seen some shifter slop.
