Hi all,

My 95 ATX is having a hard time starting. It does start but only after a good 3-4 seconds of crank time and then when it finally decides to catch if sputters for a second or two. After that if runs perfect. What could be causeing this? It's almost like its getting too much gas. I have alreadys changed the Idle air control valve so I know its not that. Any help would be great.

Thanks Again,
Dan

Guys, when you turn your ignition on to the first click, listen to your fuel pump to hear if it is engaging or not. If it makes a fading whine, it is on the way out, therefore not making enough fuel into the fuel rails to ignite from the spark plugs. Let the fuel pump get some fuel up in the engine before you start cranking it, and maybe that will cut on your crank time.
