Fuel filter
fuel pressure
bad check valve in fuel pump

Try priming the fuel pump a few times before you start it next time. It might help.

it likely won't leave you stranded...yet...

mine has been 'dying' for a couple of years now....only the other day it died and failed to restart for the first time.

Try and keep the tank full, park the car in the shade, and cycle the key a couple times to build pressure in the fuel lines, and you'll be alright.

If it is the fuel pump, and it doesn't want to restart just let it cool down for approx 30 min and it will fire back and operate just fine. Also avoid driving in the heat of the day and heavy/stop and go traffic.
