Yea i am crazy! 15k into my SHO Resto and the Long block is still sitting on the stand in my garage! I guess i just have a different P.O.V. and logic to spending money on experimential car parts! I would love to have a set of these, I think there an awesome deal for the money, if proven for the application!

I aint afriad to put my money where my keyboard is. Show me some A+ perfect test results, Installed on a SHO, real world, daily driven after 90 days, and ill buy 2 sets.

BOOT AWAY no skin off my crack!

Are the spring rates going to be setup for a sporty street ride (Im guess this is the one they will design to), a good track setting, or somewhere in between. It would be nice when you are dealing with the company if you could get them to recommend spring rates for different situations. Id rather have the designing engineers recommend a starting point for different situations than shoot in the dark.

Jumping in late here.....

FWIW, I've had a set of Ksports on my Subaru for over a year now, and they have been fine.

I'm assuming that one of their standard setups will be used for the SHO. If so, there are a few springs available with different spring rates.

My setup is a bit stiff for our roads, but outstanding on smooth surfaces and the track. There is a softer spring available for my setup, but I don't want to go through the hassle of swapping them, as they aren't any rougher than the Eibach-full firm Konis I had on one of my Gen 2s.

Well there is no surer way to **** any new products being offered in a group buy than to act like you are in this thread. Maybe you should change your screen name to Wet Blanket.....

FWIW, I just drove my freshly coilovered SHO on it's first trip (to get an alignment). I didn't exceed 20 mph, the toe, camber and caster are way out of spec but I was very happy with how it felt on the road. Yes, it was firm (which is what I wanted) but I didn't need to slow down for speed bumps any more than usual and road imperfections weren't jarring my kidneys or cracking my spine. This is with Gary's setup (+ SHOsource front plates and articulating mounts) using 8" 500# front springs and 10" 350# rears. If the K- Sports are comparable or better than what I have now, I suspect that those who step up to get these are going to be VERY happy with their purchase. I just removed Koni's/Eibachs to go with fresher Koni's and stiffer Eibach coilover springs. I am very pleased so far.

If I make one suggestion, I would recommend that the rear mounts on the future K sports do not mimic the height of the OEM rear mount. Gary's rear mount does not (it's much slimmer) so I can run a longer rear spring. Although I have all of 10 minutes and 2 miles on this setup, I've heard a few people complain that the rear springs on the GC kit are too short. I thought about this a great deal (for ~ 7 years) when I was going to run the IPT kit which has a fat rear mount.

Gary vs. IPT:

100 8521

I really think that the K sport coilovers are going to be a great product. Considering that the only other coilover choice for the Taurus is the Ground Control kit, this should be a great setup for anyone who wants to upgrade their suspension.

Keep in mind that Tokicos and Intrax are no longer made. IPT went under a long time ago so they aren't making any new coilover kits. Gary's run was very limited. The only performance choices we have are Koni, Eibach (not that great IMO) and Ground Control. I really hope that this product comes to market. As our aftermarket grows, other vendors and manufacturers may take more interest in our cars.

A time-line starting from when the full 5 orders are placed till shipping would be nice. How long do you plan on testing for, or is it just test fitting? How long to make any corrections found from the testing? How long to manufacture and finally ship?

Can recoup some from selling your current suspension if that helps you justify it.

I will go into greater detail on how to properly install these coilovers, and define what the difference is between sleeve coilovers, regular coilovers, and full coilovers (which is what ksport makes) these all install differently which is why many have had problems with the install.

Can you please elaborate now on proper installation?

3 posts in a row, guess Im a little excited or had too much caffinee.

Once we recive the 5 payments and I have lined things up with the tester it will take K Sport 1-2 months to test and develop. I would imagine as much as a month to build them. So we might be looking as much as 3 months to ship.

I will work with I an to get install instructions.

If folks want cheap performance parts, owning a SHO is not part of that equation.

$900 for coilovers is damn cheap. It's what I paid for the Ksports for my Subaru that has a MUCH larger aftermarket. My next set of coilovers will be Tein Comfort Sports which are $1,600/set, put I'll spend the extra few hundred for the dash controller. There are other coilover setups that are $2,500/set.

Lets see for my car K sports 899, D2's 912, Tein Basics 1300, Jics 2900 so yea 900 is damn cheap.

Matt are we looking for someone in the Arizona area? I may be able to drop a car off for you. Going to be transporting some SHOs to NM pretty soon.
