Guys I would be all over this if I hadn't just installed a set of coilovers. I'm sure that what I installed is going to work great for me but I'm disappointed that I won't be able to help bring out a new product. I'm not saying that to sound presumptuous; I just know how difficult it is to fulfill a minimum order on a GB. I hope that this product comes out. You guys have been great in serving this community. Thanks for all of the hard work and effort.

They are considered to be crap my many. Ive heard so many horror stories. I havent heard any feedback from the new ones since they've been updated recently. With a factory warranty its a good deal.

id be very interested, however the reliability of these coilovers concerns me.
if there was a longer warranty or prehaps a diffrent company (i.e. Tein or Omni sport) id feel a bit more comfortable.

Tein has a high failure rate as ksports as far as the community that i am in is concerned but cost 400 more. Jics have a high failure rate and cost at low 2500. I think that k sports are very very nice coilovers for the money and they honor there warranty.

Just installed a set of ksports on my brother's probe gt. They were really nice but both the front ones blew within the first month. I as well would be concerned with reliability. I will say that they did honor the warranty on the product.

FWIW Alot of corolla guys have them and are more than happy for the price. There have been no issues reported with them. For their price, adjust ability, there a direct bolt in, the come with camberplates, and they have a really good backing of their product.

Worth it to me. Add me to the list matt

Thats only if they are installed correctly. Poeple call them crap becasue they dont instlal them as they should. One friend in particular has over 55k on his and been doing fine.

What are the installation issues that would cause a premature failure? I read something about adjusting the rebound or compression too far and blowing out the internal seals. I guess that's an easy one to do.

EDIT: Just in case it's not clear, I'm not doubting you. I'm just curious.

The double adjustability is very appealing. Will we be able to pick our own spring rates?

As someone else mentioned, are these modified from another application? My SHO is coming down in weight, but we still have a pretty heavy car overall...

I am not a regular on this forum, but I am very good friends with Matt at ShoSource. He has asked me to help discuss any rumors and quality control issues people have heard about in the past. I have a 2003 honda civic ex (please forgive me, my wife wanted it). I have the Ksport Kontrol Pros installed for over 50K with no problems. When I made my purchase I did a lot of research about these supposed rumors of blown shocks/struts and all types of horror stories reguarding this product. I hope that I may help all of you understand that the problems that are related to this product have no bearing on manufacturer defect rather customers that are unaware of how to properly install a true full coilover that ksport makes. I encourage those of you who are weary to find actual instances with pictures and proof that these coilovers are dangerous or poorly made. When I did my searching all I could find was he said she said, i heard about some guy whos car blew up and did 100 barrel rolls over a freeway off ramp, etc.. because of these coilovers. I did find many instances where the customer installed the coilovers incorrectly which resulted in blown shocks/struts popping noises and other annoying noises. Ksport should not take responsibility for customers that cannot read instructions, however they have. I personally know of 2 instances in the civic community where I wrote a how to on these coilovers and some members realized that they had installed them incorrectly and blew their struts and ksport gave them new struts because they were under their warranty.

The reason I suggested this company over those such as tien, skunk2, stances and others is because they arent an arrogant company. As you all know trying to get parts for a SHO is almost impossible. I have been laughed at in the past when I was trying to get some highly respected turbo companies to make a kit for your cars, and was told that this car is a dying breed and not worth anyones time or effort to produce new parts for. I believe that this community and the few others are proof enough that we love our SHO's and there is still a large enough group to justify new products. Also tien and some others have horrible track records for qualtiy control that can easily be found. They also want $25k to do a start up for new products, which is not reasonable at all.

Ksport is also located in arizona, not japan, where they still speak english and have great customer service. Other options reguarding this kit are spring rates are negotiable and they do revalve the struts/shocks if you move up or down too far with the spring rates (the revalve does cost more). You can purchase any replacement part to the kit, which is unheard of from other companies. When your struts/shocks do wear out you can buy the replacements too for less than what monroes cost. I cant guarantee that this will apply to every customer, but I complained about the spring rates in the rear of my civic being to soft and ksport replaced them for the cost of shipping after I had the coilovers installed for 6 months, what other companies give you that kind of customer service?

So all in all Matt was very excited about this product when I explained the great customer service and how much I have enjoyed this product for the price. He has put a lot of work into bringing this product to life for you guys so I hope this helps and feel free to ask questions or comments. I will be monitoring this forum as much as possible, however I just moved so I dont have access to the internet everday so my posts my be delayed.

I will go into greater detail on how to properly install these coilovers, and define what the difference is between sleeve coilovers, regular coilovers, and full coilovers (which is what ksport makes) these all install differently which is why many have had problems with the install.

These will be made for the tarus so they will be able to handle the weight.

You can adjust them from the top, just like the konis.

I prefer the ksports over the g/c koni setup i have on my other car.
