GH vs Ortiz

It isnt specluation. V11 for LMS was a nightmare and numerous people reported here that it felt like their transmissions were going to break because of how dog shit the tune was. Numerous threads here over hundreds of pages just talking about that.

One of my first experiences on this forum was calling LMS out for that and being piled on for not trusting them. How times have changed lmao

So just to pick the minds of the many here. What device are you using to load your tunes? I'm gonna go with Gearhead and see they have several available. SCT appears to have more choices and I want the best one available but really can't tell. Plus I've been seeing some posts about SCT bricking the computers. So please chime in.

I use sct and switch tunes ALOT. If you do it correctly you shouldnt have an issue. Other members change out tunes more than i do. Let the dern thing do its job and do what it says to do and you will be fine

It depends on whether you want to monitor PID's or not. If you do then get the LiveWire TS+ or X4. If not then go with the BDX. As far as the PCM's getting bricked, that was only an issue on 10-12' SHO's and the problem has since been corrected.

I use the Live Wire TS. Works pretty well shows 12 variables at once.

Yeah, I never fell for LMS. First off way too pricey, second of all relabeling others parts is a no, and finally the ultimate decider was proprietary ********, fackoff apple iTunes fanboi...... **** to the nah.

I admit I was SCT proud for a short while, until I tried to buy their tuning software and they set up hurdles and kept raising the costs of tuning my own vehicle......

Then, I downloaded VCM suite and thought, it can't be any good if it's free...... 3 days later I realized I had a problem, I needed to sell my SCT and go full HPTuners. Everyone around me was worried about my new addiction, but I was chasing dragons!

Thanks for the input everyone, ended up getting the Trump Bucks package through Ortiz since I wanted the EPP intake as well couldn't pass up the price. Looking forward to getting some more horsepower!

Great discussion. I looked at Unleased, and they seemed like a great value. I looked at Ortiz, but couldn't really find SHO packages on their Website, just an understanding that HP tuners were the best. And, I looked at Gearhead. Am going with GH, mainly because of AO and forum discussion about shifts being smooth and the tune being super good for a daily driver. Note that I was looking for the intercooler, but they are backordered for a while, so was out of luck there. I'll post how it all goes once I'm up and running with the tune and the bits.

[Edit] I will post in the performance forum when I am up and running. Seems like a better place for that discussion.

Nice man! I am somewhat local to GH, I started with a GH tune AO tune in October last year. A week after that I got an Intercooler, then DP’s, fuel pumps, turbos, EPP intake. And the list goes on, It sure is fun pushing these cars!

When I fell for them it was either them or Unleashed. Now we have a lot better options lol.
