Yup, but I think that Mike (cmichealo) is referring to post #20 when Matt posted this pic of a buldge hood on LOUDSHO's car:

Ian

Yes, post #20 is the hood I'm referring to.

I thought it was Continental's SHO.

Awesome looking hood LOUDSHO! :thumb:

Keep me on the list. That makes seven.

So Whats the word on the hood?

I don't know bout you guys, but in my neighborhood it turned to March yesterday.

I hear snow melting, birds chirping, water dripping and running, the air's smelling of spring flowers and green lawns...

so where's the *&^%$#@! power bulge hood so I can take Bertha for a cruise in her latest dress???

As far as I know, this group buy is still on. We're just waiting for the shop to confirm the availability of the hood...

and as you can see from post #77 there's already 7 people signed up for the group buy.

We still need 3 more.

For you to know you can go ahead with it... is that depending on the manufacturer still? or how many people want one? You had mentioned a regular shaped hood besides the power buldge. Will that still be concidered? I am looking at a SHO next week and if I buy it, I'll be interested in a default shaped hood. Of course I will post again to confirm my commitment once I know if I have a new SHO :naughty:

LOUDSHO92,

I checked the website, and what i dont understand is that i have read alot about carbon fiber, and how in time it will fade... what kind of warranty is involved with this carbon fiber (if any) and what is done to prevent the fading. the site says something about a UV coating... what is this and how is it applied?

if you cannot answer these questions, is there a webpage for the producer of your carbon fiber that i could visit...

also for those of you that have experience with carbon fiber... what personally have you seen about fading?

(edit): I dont mean to scare everyone away from buying carbon fiber from LOUDSHO, as this is an issue with any kind of Carbon Fiber... but i would just like to be enlightened as to what is done and how it is done.

so yours is faded?

I believe what he's saying is that he's having his painted from the beginning so that fading won't be an issue... or at least that the paint will fade before the CF gets a chance to.

I think. I might be wrong.

Yes it is has a clear coat to prevent fading. It is something they apply to the hood. The hoods come with a 1yr warrenty against fading.

I have the 2nd hood for a while now and it has been doing quite well.

Sean does not have a CF Hood but when he gets one he plans to paint it so he doesnt have to worry about it fading.

Once the clear coat is gone the paint becomes exposed to everything, including UV rays from the sun, which will speed up the fading process. The result is that the paint appears dull and mismatched from other parts of the hood and the rest of the car. In places where there is salt, oxidation can occur on these spots which will eventually lead to rust.
