Like @luigisho said, we need to first know which pump you are referring to, and then we need to understand WHY you are looking to replace it. If you are having problems with the stock one, 9/10 times a stock replacement will be fine unless you are wanting to output more power.

typically the stock LPFP (in-tank) can outflow the stock HPFP, but the upgraded HPFP options outflow the LPFP, but you don't NEED to upgrade the LPFP until you are pushing E50 fueling.

Reason being that the Sho with no prior symptoms coming home after filling the tank , sputtered twice n just died on me , tried to restart several times but it would just turn over with no start . While waiting for an hour for transport I tried to restart and it did, drove off ran fine for about ten seconds and it died again . Mechanic stated it sounds like fuel pump, pulled the codes for mass/map sensor fault.

Hey guys contacted my local mechanic on Sho repairs and minor progress, he pulled codes P0106,P0234,P0642, replaced both MAP sensors, before I take it to the dreaded dealership what are you guys thoughts . Thanks

Are you running a tune? was the MAP replaced with an incorrect sensor (like 3bar vs 2bar)?
Is there 5v to all the circuit connections? THere are only a few spots in circuit below.

Were the old codes erased after the new stuff was put in? You don't want to chase old codes that may have been resolved.

Use the decision tree in 1st code to determine the next place to check/action to take.
If there are no correlating codes then go to next code.

The Fuel Pump Drive Module is a common failure point as said above. It is easily found for ~$40 online or at local auto parts stores. Dorman makes a "heavy duty" version. Being a 12-13 year old part that has had a recall on some models, replacing this is a good shot. At $40 it is less than the labor charge to get your car in the bay or a stealership. It often fails when hot (after running for a little while). Next thing I would look at (and your mechanic should have) is the fuel pressure from the LPFP and the HPFP. There are 2 very different pumps with very different costs. One is in the tank and one is on the motor..

Use a scan tool to look at your fuel pressures at idle and off idle. When my LPFP went bad, it would lose pressure off idle.

Have you looked at the fuel pressures on a scan tool? It will help you figure out which one is losing pressure and allow you to go from there.
