My fuel pump has been screaming to be replaced since I bought the car... my question is; what is the best pump to replace it with?

Pay the $200 for The ford stock unit + sending unit?

Or should I go for a 155 / 190lph aftermarket pump for closer to $100?

Should I be concerned with the lack of a sending unit on the aftermarkets? My SHO is stock and will not see any modifications to justify a high flow pump, what do you think?

There's NO point in wasting $200 on a dealer marked up fuel pump. Do you need to replace the sending unit? When I replaced my pump I used the original sending unit. I think I spent < $50 at AutoZone. I will be upgrading to the 155lph soon though for mod. purposes.

See if you can find a combo set at someplace like AutoZone or RockAuto.com, etc.

RockAuto lists a "Pump" for $66, and an "Assembly" for $101.

If you can get a stock 112lph equivalent with sender & sock, etc. for $100, I'd go that route. If YOU'RE not going to mod your SHO, about the only thing the higher-volume pump is going to do for you is possibly a selling feature in the future.

Good luck, Brian.

My options are (thanks to time constraints) a 155LPH (pump only) from Scott Perf. OR the $200 pump + sending unit from the Ford store.

I cannot tell if the sending unit needs to be replaced... all I know is that my sho has 99k miles on it, and the loud hummmmm coming from the rear of my car has been the fuel pump. Recently the sound and pitch of that hum has been all over the place. I wanna get it outta there!

I'm sure sending units go bad but I haven't seen many that couldn't be fixed by just replacing the pump. After all, the sending unit is basically metal tubing. I personally would go with the 155 and a new check valve from the dealer($8). Check other posts (search) as I've put the part number in other posts recently.
