first of i want to thank all the cats on here that helped me out. u guys were right on the money even when the stealership tried to do the do with no vaseline, BIG UPS TO YOU ALL and hence my next dilemma so here it goes: so i change out the ABS module (midnight was late on the delivery by the way)and the speedo works fine so i am not having that problem any more thank GOD, i drove it yesterday and just as i took the bend the SES light comes on, i have the codes pulled and what it is saying is that there is a CYLINDER MISSFIRE IN CYLINDER NUMBER 3, now prior to this i was noticing during idle that there was some serious hesitation i mean it was not idling smoothly at all so i did anticipate the SES coming on soon. this is the real problem, if cylinder 3 is misfiring how do i test if it is the plug, the wires or the distributor i mean how do i go about fixing it

second problem: i initially had my technician replace the ABS module cause i did not feel like being bothered so he did it for me but it is like he got rid of a potentially annoying problem by creating a new one because the ABS light is now a permanent fixture on my dash board. QUESTION: i anticipated this happening as well and to tell you the truth i dont care about the ABS system never have so i pose this to you, is there a way i can get rid of the ABS light?? i dont need this system so i dont care about it and would appreciate some answers on this as well

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP

#3 is almost certainly a coil. sadly #3 is in the back. autozone has them for the cheapest online, i just got one for $71.

i believe the abs light can come on due to air in the system. i also think some of the tuners can get rid of it but im not 100%.

Misfire #3 is a bad coil as mentioned above. If you've got the cash, pony up the money and replace all four bank 1 coils.

Easiest solution to the ABS light problem...pull the bulb.

I'd bleed the brakes again first, though, and see if it is air in the lines like mentioned above.

when you say ""sadly", does this mean this procedure is going to be tough as **** to get done??and does any one have pics of the coils itself, when you say coils are these the little wires that go directly onto the spark plug or some thing different getting confused here

The V8 has COP - looks like this:

You have to pull the surge tank off to get to the four rear cylinders. Not nearly as difficult as some would like you to believe.

It really only takes about 20-30 mins. to get the surge tank off but if it's you first time count on much longer. Not hard though.

Your lucky as **** your car even told you that one of your coils was bad.

The first time I had a mis i took my car to a buddy of mine who had a computer and pluged it into my car.

When another coil went, my buddy no longer had the computer so I just said screw it and replaced the remaining 7.

I pulled the bulb in mine just because I couldn't stand looking at it anymore. You can get it out in five minutes tops. I could care less about the ABS, you don't need it. Tried to fix it once and it didn't work. Just be careful in rain or snow.

So it's flashing 22?

B1922 22 Safing sensor output circuit shorted to battery voltage

This is either a short in the steering column or the clock spring is bad in the steering wheel, quick guess.

I think he meant the ABS warning light flashes twice when he starts the car. I take it you meant that he needs to be on a code reader? My car has the ABS on as well, and the bulb is pulled now until I get around to fixing it. I'm subscribed to this thread... :)

You need a special code reader for the ABS system; a regualar DTC reader won't be able to talk with the ABS system.

The AntiLock Brake light should either stay lit and extinguish itself after the self test or flash two digit numbers Lamp Fault Codes when first turning on the key to run. If there is a problem while driving the ABS light will come on and remain on continuously.

What kind of code reader do you have? Why don't you get the #3 cyclinder code fixed?

Unless you have the Ford NGS or something similar you are only able to read the OBDII codes. The manufacturer specific codes number in the thousands and will include such mundane things as whether your door lock is working when commanded.

i dont have a personal code reader myself, i go to an autozone or parts store and have them pulled for me, however i am still in the market for a coil
