The stock cams are so small, im surprised it makes power past 4500 rpms at all... That's problem 1. As far as the pump lobe goes, our 4 lobe design actually has an rpm limitation compared to the truck 3 lobe design. Even if you could, you wouldn't want to go above the 4 lobe design. Just adding lift will satisfy your fuel goals.

Working on something.... Build has been very slow for unknown reasons with the parties involved, but I hope to have something by the middle of summer in the car.... The tuning for these mods (speed density) will be no cake walk, but once done will carry over to the next customer wanting the same thing.

Swap them.
Without lookin too much into it, I'm pretty sure you'd need to change over to the truck style intake manifold at the very minimum, and without having a set of both heads in front of me, not sure how the coolant/thermostat housing area of our heads would line up. Would that manifold clear the hood? IDK....so many questions lol.

All that being said, I guess, it MIGHT be possible to do a complete top end swap with some fabrication being required to cooling and intake systems....

But like I said, there may be a huge piece of the puzzle I'm not visualizing at the moment that would make this near impossible...or maybe easy as ****, lol. Until it's been tried, sounds like a coin toss either..

As far as I can tell Ford made 2 completely different 3.5s including the block.... But the weaker version is used everywhere except the f150 and ford GT. But they share a lot of similar parts... You would think intake should work with minor modifications.

So it makes cents for BPD1151 to try it. I mean what better way to break the 6figure build barrier?(I honestly hope he is nowhere near this figure including car cost) lol

Paging @shoblock. He maybe able to clearify this.

However, I think spending money on a custom cam set would probably be most cost effective. I could be wrong however.

Sounds 'spensive. I was unaware of the fuel lobe difference until Matt mentioned it. Just another awesome fail for the Ford engineering... But I guess they never imagined people modding the Taurus/Flex/Explorer?

You would think they would learn after all of the cool trim models they have offered throughout the years.....
