it's a character from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, he always tells their neighbor Carl "Tonight, YOU!" right before he rapes him. I figured the SHO was going to be doing a lot of similar things to other unsuspecting cars.

Oh, OK. Gotcha! That makes sense now that you've explained it. And let's see who will be my first "****".

Are you going to take it to a drag strip or dyno? Please do.

Dyno, YES! Once I get all the little bugs worked out I want to have it re-tuned and get a dyno sheet. I'm hoping for near 300 fwhp and near the same torque. Only thing that's gonna hurt me there is the heat the blower produces with no intercooler. That will zap power but hopefully the meth kit helps to alleviate that. Strip, probably not. And reason being is there is not one near me. I haven't yet had a chance to take my Lightning and that's what I want to race, not the SHO. I'm shooting for 10s with the L, and then what, maybe 13s with the SHO. Not worth my time. If the dyno sheet impresses me with higher numbers than I'm guessing, then maybe I'll reconsider. :naughty:

that intake is awesome, so is the rest of the build! any videos of the car?

No vids yet. I'm working that way though. The intake is an awesome design, that's for sure. For the month the car was down I was trying my best to find some counter sunk bolts to replace the damn hex head ones but no one had the little son-of-a-guns. Guess that size bolt is just a no-go. I already had a bit ready to mod the intake and was looking forward to a flush mount top. Not now I suppose.

Beautiful!!

Any chance of selling that intake to order?

You may be able to get a hold of Doug and order the parts needed. I'm not at liberty personally to re-create it. I know I could but then I would have to remove the whole damn thing again. :banghd: Hit him up, he probably still has the template right in his office as a souvenir to remind him of how much a PITA it (and I) was for past four years.:laugh_ti:

This car has got me looking at M90 blowers and prices of aluminum sheeting. :)

Already got the TIG welder at the school shop.

Also have a MTX-IV that some day I would like to have put in to get rid of my failing ATX.

Cool car, looks great Powdercoated!

Just an update fellas. The extra fuel line to the driver side of the fuel rail ruptured and busted last night. Everything was done but I had a little bit of drippage from the line, so I wanted to see why and replace it if need be. I suspect when I cut it and inserted the junction between the two it must have over stretched it and it found the weak link. And of course by the time I realized it was 7:55pm and everywhere closes at 8:00pm. Go figure! And to top it off, I had to remove some of the damn parts again. I just love doing stuff twice, or three times.:banghd: So, hopefully tomorrow I will have new fuel line to fit the thing. I have an ass load of -10 AN hose for my L, but I don't think that will fit the SHO. Unless I put the 3/8" hose inside of it. Thanks again for the kind words guys, much appreciated. And NebraskaSHO, I had to paint it with a can instead because the two times I powdercoated the parts they just didn't look right. Too dark of a grey and then the silver I had looked too blue-ish for my liking. And by that time I was fed up and "hammered silver" painted it. I'll be back soon......

Sorry I missed it before it left GA. The intake risers were a nightmare to make. The holes are not symmetrical! Figures. Anyways, looks really nice. I remember the day you dropped it off.

Hey man. I don't recall your first name or recognize your screen name on here. You aren't Larry are ya? You know me and my car so that's cool though. And you remember the day I dropped it off huh? All I can remember is there were SHOs everywhere and work going on like crazy. Even at Doug's new shop their were SHOs scattered but it wasn't quite as busy as it was in '05. This recession we are all in sux big time!
The risers look to be PITA to create. Makes me smile when others want to duplicate this kit. It is a very nice piece and it's made from a solid aluminum chunk. Anyone wanting to make their own I applaud them. Just hope you have some other vehicles to drive while your car is torn down.

Yup, it's me Larry. The powdercoating turned out really nice. I sold my SHO a few years ago, but it's still on the road. I saw it at Doug's shop a couple of months ago. I'm back into BMWs again.

why not make the upper intake tall enough so you dont have to make risers?
kind of like my quick paint drawing.

I thought that was you Larry. I remember you and still have your card in my wallet. :nut: Sad to hear you sold your SHO though. Funny you are into Bimmers again. I almost bought a sick ass 6 series Bimmer before I ordered my new SHO. I'm still wanting one and will have one here one day.:naughty:

I guess you could do a one piece plenum. And it would work fine. I don't see a problem with doing that. My advice would be to do separate pieces and then weld it all up together though. That way fitment is dead on and all the bolt holes line up correctly.

OK guys, I know everyone was patiently waiting for the results of this beast once all was up and running. I had to fix a few odd ball things that came up. A vacuum leak under the plenum, sensor for fans had to be relocated cause of my triple gauge set up, leaky blower snout, two squealing bearings on my two idlers, (and now the damn p/s bearing is raising **** which I haven't fixed yet), minor adjustments for carbon fiber cowl hood, and I still have to fix one of my leaking 18" rims at the bead and ABS circuitry fault.
Now to the good stuff. I still hafta to get it tuned and dialed in, but Doug and I agreed to fix the other problems I had first. Since that is all done, as soon as I can I will get the car on the dyno. From being behind the driver seat now and I "putting" around town it was cool. Sounds freaking awesome and I can only imagine folks around me wondering why the **** that Taurus sounds so loud. But last night a Cobalt SS happen to pull up beside me at a stop light. I didn't know it yet, but it was on. :naughty:
He musta been wondering hard and expecting the worse, so when the light turned green he jetted. My wife and I were just heading home from dinner. At the next light we were up again, and I was ready. Light turned, I got up on it kinda hard, but not too much. Just wanted to see what he was going to do. He decided to punch it and got a jump up on me so I nailed it to the floor. The SHO whined like crazy, tranny down shifted, I was fighting the wheel (as I had never had a front wheel drive car lose traction quite like that before and I if I didn't know any better I'd say Doug slipped in a Quaife:nut:) wife about spilled the leftovers, and I smoked his tail. Holy crap it was f'n awesome! I know the SS Cobalts aren't all that, but I knew it would smoked a stock V-8 SHO by far. I really can't wait to get this thing fine tuned. And I was pondering selling it just to get out of the older SHOs and just keeping the new one. Maybe not now. Who knows? I'm wanting to see a dyno sheet really bad, I know that. And I may even slap back on the stock rims/tires to help gain a little bit more out of her. :omgsho: I think it's time for a video of it for you guys also. Let me see how the weekend weather goes. Sorry for the long post fellas, but I'm sure some will get a kick out of it.
