I have an 11 non pp and will be buying a 91 octane tune, 3 bar and t-stat soon. Have been running regular 87 octane since I got the car.

So. Should I fill up with 91, run it down, fill up with 91 again just to remove all 87. Or, say I have 1/8 tank of 87, can I just fill the remaining 7/8 with 91 and be OK to run the tune?

I always prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to fuel. If it were mine, I would want it to be 100% 91 if you are going to run a 91 octane tune - especially since we are in the winter fuel season. Would the world come to an end if the tank was 1/8 full of 87? Probably not but if you have the opportunity to have a full tank of 91, why not just do it?

And use good quality fuel from a highturnover station. If you are running a tune, then 91 better be 91.
